Music: Have you heard?

Music is a spectacular thing. Its amazing how music is helpful in a variety of ways. I strongly believe that everyone should get involved in music.

Has school, a job, or maybe even family ever stressed you out? Try listening to music and, no, don't turn on the TV and hope you feel better. TV is way to busy for your mind and body to relax. The always-moving picture and always-talking characters make it hard for your mind to concentrate on what is going on. Try lying on your bed and then listen to your favorite song. Maybe even close your eyes! You will probably feel much better and have more useful concentration skills. Put a little rhythm into your relaxation!

Have you ever caught yourself dancing to a song? That's great! Dancing to a song is a great way to stay active. If you don't like sports, then try dancing! Studies show that dancing makes you strong and more coordinated. Certain dances include jumping which is a great aerobic exercise according to the American Heart Association.

Lastly, have you noticed that some songs make you happy and others make you sad? The musicians who composed these songs have a great sense of creativity and you can too! Try playing an instrument like the trumpet, flute, or maybe even clarinet. Then you can increase your creativity and make your own beautiful music!

As you can see music is more than just popping a CD into your stereo. Music is a joy by itself but having exercise, relaxation, and a way to express yourself all in one makes it even better. Get involved in music and it will amaze you too!
